Dandy's journal 10 years ago today - A controversial entry!

Oct. 8th, 2005 at 9:59 AM

Two pieces of Bunny-Mint business.

1. There will be 2 minutes silence for the passing of Oliver from The Hairy Mob to the Rainbow Bridge, followed by a huge party to celebrate his life!

2. I need to announce the results of the votes regarding the preference for uppitty ears, or lop ears... I have counted ALL of the individual votes, but where somebun has voted and claimed to be voting in favour of a whole group of buns, I have only counted their votes as ONE! I don't know any group of buns that can agree on anything, so I just don't believe it when somebun says this is our vote, and by the way there are 30 of us so count it 30 times!

The results are as follows....

Bucks should have upright ears - votes for = 7. Votes against = 2, so this one is carried

Does should have floppy ears - votes for = 7. Votes against = 2, so this one is also carried.

Upright ears are best - votes for = 6. Votes against = 3, so this one is also carried

Which all goes to prove that I was right all along (as usual)

Excuse us Dandy but how did you count our vote? We seem to remember we voted both ways!

It seemed to me that you could not make up your minds so I treated your vote as spoiled.

Tsk tsk, silly bunnies!

Bunnies should have whatever kind of ears they feel most comfortable having.

Our 30 votes
We are very disappointed that our votes for lopped ears haven't been counted.

16 howling French Lops, 11 loudly sobbing Mini Lops and 3 miserable Dwarf Lops all feeling very dejected.

Please count again and make us smile. Perhaps, as an extra consolation, our 60 ears can be each have their own votes now....

Re: Our 30 votes
Well I have a problem here. You see you sent an anonymous message, you don't say who you are, and you don't give any of your names, so how can I count your votes?

Re: Our 30 votes
Here we are:-

The Howling Frenchies:
Madam Butterfly
Lady Butterfly
(A few extras have joined the debate now!)

The Sobbing Mini Lops:
(The twins don't vote on a Sunday - it's their day of rest)

The Dejected Dwarf Lops

After seeing her friends in floods of tears at their votes being counted as just one, British Giant Imogen has become aware of the debate and would like her vote for prick ears to now be counted so that's 29 for lops (the number will increase tomorrow when more minis participate after their day of rest) and one for upright.

Re: Our 30 votes
We think Dandy should count all your votes especially after not counting ours, just because we said its up to the individual bunny what ears they have!

As there are so many of you will you be starting a journal or do you have one already?

Hear Hear, we need as many journals as possible

Re: Our 30 votes
We'd like to have our own journal but mum thinks we'll all fight over who gets to use the computer first. Ideally, we want one of those nice broadband connections and wireless hutch-tops in our pens. We'll keep our ears crossed - that's one advantage of having long ears - I'll be not all of your ears cross...?

Hi Imogen

It would be good if you started a journal, we are sure that you could all take it in turns. We would love to learn more about you all, where are u from, names etc

Re: Our 30 votes
We live in the Wye Valley close to the Wales border with a full-time slave to attend our needs - and we have many.

When we doze on the lawn we can see a big shiny river and the Welsh hills then when we look to the left we see an Iron Age Hill fort and the Malvern Hills to the right.

There are lots of our wild relatives around but we're not allowed to mix with them. We all live outdoors most of time, apart from Giles. He's a delicate boy - he was bought from a pet shop for a 2 year old child who kicked him and broke his jaw (now wired together) and he also had a broken leg when he arrived here. Now he spends his days licking mum's feet which, apparently, tickles her!

My own daughter, Daphne, thinks of herself as a charity worker - she visits hospitals and hospices in Kent where she cheers up the patients and holds 'Guess the Weight of the Bunny' contests. I'm so proud of her....

Re: Our 30 votes
Hi Imogen

Does that mean you live near to the hairymob they are from Wales as well. Its sounds very nice where you live. You are very lucky to have a full time slave.

we are housebunnies and live in the channel islands (Jersey)and are ministers for the channels in bunnymint, maybe you should ask Dandy if he has any spare positions for any other ministers that you could become.

Tell Giles that is a very sad story but we are pleased that he is now a houserabbit and has all of you guys for friends.

We really think you should consider starting your own journal as those of us that have them are very friendly and like millie says more journals are needed.

Re: Our 30 votes
I think we're a bit further south than the Hairy Mob - we're close to the South Wales borders although mum is from the north-west and used to holiday in the Hairy Mob's area.

It is nice here. I was born in a big crowded town in the Home Counties but moved here 2 years ago when my ex-mum felt I was a bit too randy for my own good and she was having difficulty handling me!! I love it here as I have lots of friends, loads of space and exercise - and I'm very close to Giles who's bouncing with health and fitness now.

The Channel Islands sound nice but I'm not a good swimmer, although I have French Lop friends in the Cotswolds who go swimming in a large pond. Personally, I prefer to keep my coat looking clean, fresh and dry.

I'll keep pestering the human about having my own journal....

I'll talk to Dandy about this. He may need to call another vote.
