Dandy's Journal revisited

15 years ago today, Dandy was making new friends. In the comments you will find the first message from Merrydoe Brandybunny which although Dandy didn't know it would lead to the international collaboration that would become The BunnyTunes Project.

Yesterday was polling day... I wish I knew what that meant, but it does seem to be important. Late last night the only thing that was on the light up box was a lot of boring stuff with 2-foots talking about the results of polling day. My 2-foots did not have any poles, I did not see any other 2-foots outside with any poles, I did not even see any 2-foots on the light up box with any poles, so if it was polling day, and if the poles are so important, then where are all the poles?

It is funny you should say that, you have reminded us we had a polling day too here is Tiptree which is miles away we think from anywhere. We did not see our 2foots with any poles either. Bamboozling these 2foots!!!

Hi, Dandy Bunny! My name is Merridoe Brandybunny (Merry for short). I was webhopping when I came across your journal.

I have to comment on your recommendation that everybun should have a 2- foot. I adopted two of them in March. They’re really funny to watch! They can provide you with hours of entertainment as they run around and groom. It takes a lot of time, but I think I’m finally starting to understand a bit of their weird language. My 2-foots will sometimes try to speak Lagomorph with me, but their accents are very strange indeed!

I heard the stars crashing around the other night. It was pretty darn scary! I kept worrying that the 2-foot I affectionately call Mom (‘cause she brings me my greens) wound not be able to pick my greens and I’d have to settle for nibbling on the 2-foot I call Dad’s fur. He is very furry all over. He laughs when I nibble his fur and says something about that I’m a Hair and not a Rabbit. I don’t quite understand what he means by that, thought.

I live in some place called Lawn Guyland, New York. I think it’s called Lawn Guyland because everyone has a bit of lawn. I’m not allowed to play in it though because Mom says it’s too dangerous. Big Woofers live in the nearby houses and I think she’s afraid that one of them will deafen me or sit on me. They’re too dumb to do much else.

Just a suggestion, flowers aren’t a waste of space if you can train your 2-foots to plant yummy ones. Try to get them to plant pansies and marigolds, they’re delicious! Roses are pretty tasty, too, although a bit prickly! For some reason, Mom is always amused when I eat a marigold. She chuckles something about having Marigold breath. I’m not totally sure I understand 2-foots yet, but, again, they’re fun to watch and challenging to train.

Re: Hello Merry
Hi Merry, I must say that I like your website very much. I asked Flopsy Girl about Lawn Guyland in New York, and she said that she was not quite sure where New York is, but if it's near York, then you live quite close to us (as our 2-foots go to York quite often). I hope that you come back often, and leave comments whenever you want.

Re: Hello Merry
Hi, Dandybun! I've been trying to work out this LiveJournal thing. I'm getting a page together and using part of my full name. My formal name is "Merridoe Brandybunny", but everyone calls me, "Merry"! Anyway, I couldn't fin Merridoe Brandybunny as a name, so I'll be called Merridoe when I post messages.

Unfortunately, I think York and New York are more than a hop away. I think I remember hearing that there's a lot of water between the two and I really don't like water except to drink.

I'll hop back soon!

Re: Hello Merry
I know what you mean about water. We have a pond in our garden, and it's a complete waste of space. Perhaps there is a big pond between York, and New York?
